Want to know if ICATS can help you? On a daily basis, we provide two types of service: Demand Response and Fixed Routes. ICATS is a public transportation system that serves human-service consumers as well as the general public. Under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) there can be no preference given due to trip purpose. Therefore, every trip will be regarded in the same manner.
Deman Response: This service is available to the general public for those needing transportation around Iredell County. At ICATS we try to respond to medical needs first and personal needs after. However, we will respond to all needs throughout Iredell County in a timely manner. If it is your first time riding with ICATS we will need a 48-hour notice prior to your ride.
Deviated Fixed Routes: ICATS has 2 deviated fixed bus routes. One in Statesville (The Statesville Bloom) runs Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:35pm and one in Mooresville (The Mooresville Main) runs Monday-Friday 7:10am-6:40pm. "Deviated Fixed Routes" means that in addition to boarding the bus at the specified stops listed, Passengers can request to be picked up and dropped off 3/4 of a mile off the bus route. These deviation stop reservations must be made 24 hours in advance by calling ICATS at 704-873-9393. Passengers must be at the designated stops when the vehicle arrives to board.
The ICATS Express is a regional, long distance commuter service that use the tolled express lanes on I-77 to avoid traffic congestion. It serves park-and-ride lots and transit hubs and offers seamless connections to local buses and light rail in Charlotte. Buses run during peak weekday commute times. There are 3 round trips in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.
The ICATS Salisbury VA Shuttle is a way to give back to the men and women who have served our country. This bus connects the City of Statesville and Town of Mooresville to the Salisbury VA hospital. The service runs every Tuesday arriving to Salisbury VA at 9:00am and departing at 3:00pm. Please call the office at 704-873-9393 to schedule your trip as the bus will fill up.
Scheduling a Trip: After being signed up for the service, trips may be scheduled by calling to make reservations at 704-873-9393 between 8:00am and 3:00pm Monday-Friday. Trips may be scheduled one month in advance and are required to be scheduled 48-hours in advance. Drivers may not be allowed to take reservations from passengers. Human Services agents must complete a Reservation Form on behalf of their clients. These forms should be faxed to 704-873-8125 or emailed. Please have the following information available to schedule a trip:
- Name and Street Address of passenger
- Telephone number of passenger
- Time and Date of the appointment
- Destination name and street address
- Return time (2 hours automatically scheduled unless specified)
- Type of assistive device used (wheelchair, walker, or cane)
- If an escort/personal care attendant will be present
